Privacy and Deletion Instagram Module

Version of April 8, 2024

Please carefully read these terms and conditions of use of the Instagram Prestashop module and its Pro version.

Article 1 - Privacy policy

The module uses Instagram's Basic Display API. The module asks for your authorization after authentication of your account on Instagram, to access your media data in read-only mode.
Instagram Basic Display grants apps access to the Instagram Basic Display API, which provides read-only access to the basic data of app users' Instagram accounts.
Please note that Basic Display is not an authentication tool. The data returned by the API cannot be used to authenticate users.

Instagram Profile Access Permission

This permission is intended for apps that allow people to log in with Instagram to access their general profile information; for example, an application that can retrieve a person's Instagram username and account type. Apps that meet this scenario must use the instagram_graph_user_profile permission.

Multimedia content authorization

This permission is intended for apps that allow people to log in with Instagram to access their own content; for example, an application that allows you to print your own photos from your Instagram profile. Applications that meet this scenario must use the instagram_graph_user_media permission.

Article 2 - Conditions of use of the Instagram module

By giving permission to the application through your Instagram account, you agree that the module has read-only access to certain data from your Instagram account:

- Pictures

- videos

Photos and videos are displayed on the pages of the Prestashop store where the module is installed.

Purpose of data collection

The photos and videos retrieved from your Instagram account are then displayed on the pages of the Prestashop store where the module is installed. This allows you to show your latest publications on Instagram directly on your Prestashop e-commerce store and access these publications in one click.

Article 3 - Stored data

The authorization token is stored in the database.

The photos are copied and stored on the Prestashop site where the module is installed, in order to optimize the size of the photos according to the design of your site and not to overload requests to the Basic Display API which is limited.

Article 4 - Deletion of data

To delete the stored data (photos and token) copied on the website using the Prestashop module, simply uninstall or delete the module from your Prestashop store. This operation will automatically delete all collected data (images, authorization token, long access token). You can also remove the authorization in your Instagram account at any time in the "Application and websites" settings.
